What separates the Lacerum® Brands from other Wound Healing Aids?

Lacerum® Brandsare safe to use on most animals, we recommend you consult with your veterinary professional before administering Lacerum® Brands to pregnant/lactating animals. Lacerum® Brands do not contain tea tree oil, steroids or antibiotics and is biodegradable. Lacerum® kills commonly found wound bed bacteria: E. coli, Salmonella and Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus.

It is non-toxic, does not sting or burn, non-caustic and will not damage new skin cells. Lacerum® encourages “new cell growth” with the use of antioxidants. In addition, Aloe Vera and Vitamin C (precursor to collagen) advance and accelerate healing time resulting in reduced scaring, minimal change in hair color and skin pigmentation. Lacerum® is easily applied and does not require rinsing after use – allow to air dry.

Why is it important that Lacerum® contains no antibiotics?

Overuse of antibiotics can lead to antibiotic resistance. Also many topical antibiotics are not safe for animals to ingest. Topical antibiotics, generally, do not kill staphylococcus aureus, Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus or fungi. Lacerum® Wound Cleanser Spray kills all three of these organisms and is noncytotoxic.

Does the wound area turn pink and viable when using Lacerum® Brands?

The wound area (minor and second-intention wound healing for burns, abrasions, lacerations, punctures, dry skin, hot spots, lick granuloma, dermatitis, perianal fistula and catastrophic – damage to muscle, tendon or tissue) are mostly likely “red or grey” as a result of the age of the injury.

However, after approximately 2 days of proper use of the Lacerum® Wound Cleanser Spray (flushing, cleaning, irrigating and debriding the area), the wound bed may turn pink and appear more viable. This is an indication the product is working. The addition of the Lacerum® Finish Cream will accelerate growth factors to help close the wound once the granulation bed has reached normal skin levels.
